In order to provide crucial support to suffering Africans who are plagued by hunger, Success Base and its long-term partner, One Production Holding Limited, echoed World Vision's initiatives and jointly organized "Skip-A-Meal”, a charity initiative aiming to encourage employees to skip one meal this month and donate its cost to support World Vision’s poverty alleviation work in South Sudan and Somalia.
During the event, many colleagues were heartbroken to learn how serious the famine is and the various environmental challenges Africans have been facing, as depicted in the educational videos and Q&A games. Most of them took prompt action and participated in the "Eating Air" photo-taking session, pledging to donate the day's lunch expenses. Meanwhile, the two companies will also make donations to ignite hope for impoverished communities in Africa by providing urgent food assistance, medical treatments, water supply facilities, and more.
According to the latest statistics from World Vision, due to continuous extreme weather conditions and large-scale conflicts in Africa, one in every five Africans is now suffering from severe hunger, with the total number of hungry people estimated to reach as high as 281 million.
